[NEWS] The various battles between 2AM and 2PM

Twins that are born a minute apart are always compared against each other and are seen as rivals sometimes on their own will or by the will of others. There are two such stars born in the arms of JYP: 2AM and 2PM. People combine them and call them 'one day.' The colors of these two groups are definitely unique. 2AM is the vocal group, showing off their emotional talent while 2PM is the dance group, drawing attention with their impressive performances and outfits. Although they are completely different groups, like twins, they cannot avoid the rivalry.

- One month difference in debuts, but a year's difference in wins.

2AM debuted 7/11/2008, a month or so before 2PM. Unlike 2PM, who earned their place in the music industry with their strong performances, which earned them the nickname 'Beastly Idols,' 2AM could not achieve such results. The public reaction to 2AM was later than 2PM.

As if confirming such results, 2PM tasted their first #1 win not even a year into their debut with 'Again & Again' on 5/7/2009. However, 2AM won #1 a complete year after their debut with 'Can't Send You...' on SBS's Inkigayo. As if expressing their suffering due to achieving their popularity later than 2PM, they filled their first win with tears.

- The rivalry of Wednesday/Thursday dramas, Seulong & Taecyeon stand at the center.

Their battle went on with acting. 2AM Seulong and 2PM Taecyeon unleashed their acting skills in their respective dramas. Taecyeon was able to handle his role of Jung Woo properly, exemplifying a natural country dialect and expressing his character's dependable attributes.

An area that neither 2AM or 2PM can claim dominance is varieties. Beginning with MC'ing to real varieties, their history of variety shows has no end. The most representative of such case is 2AM's Jo Kwon, appearing in varieties such as MBC's ' We Got Married' and 'Sebakwi,' he has always carried an image of a cute pocket male and is always quick to show his 'kkap Kwon' image, earning much love. Jo Kwon has been showing off his kkap on all 3 major broadcast channels.

2PM's Wooyoung is also paving a path for hiself as an MC. Starting with SBS's 'Inkigayo' and working with KBS's 'Win Win,' he has been giving witty comments. 2AM's Jinwoon has also been appearing on SBS's 'As the Flag Flies' and Changmin was a fixed cast on KBS 2TV's 'Star Golden Bell.' 2PM's Taecyeon is appearing alongside Jo Kwon on SBS's 'Family Outing 2' as a 'variety idol.'

- 2AM vs 2PM... the climax of their battle, Cola & Beer CF.

The climax of the battle between 2PM and 2AM lies in the CFs. 2PM has endorsed cosmetics, clothing, resorts, and soft drinks, a total of 10 CF recordings. They were even chosen as the #1 models in a survey. 2AM is also quite strong. They've endorsed clothing and drinks and have even raised incomes by $1 million.

They have even been clashing in the CF world with advertisements for coke and beer. The four coke and beer companies that they advertise for are known to be highly sensitive in the models they choose. But what is the reason for them in using these two groups? A marketing associate stated, "When you look at 2AM and 2PM, they remind you of each other. There's a synergy effect in the product."

He went on to state, "For example, if 2AM is advertising Pepsi Cola, it also makes you think of 2PM's advertising product, Coca Cola. In the perspective of the marketer, there's definitely a noticeable effect in using these two groups."

- Battle of the bodies.

Having always been known for their beastly manliness and their healthy bodies, 2PM enjoyed their popularity since debut. However, even the quiet ballad singers 2AM has made their muscles. 2AM's member Changmin in particular lost 30k weight and was on the cover of Men's Health in October of 2009. 2PM's member Chansung was also a model for the magazine in May of 2010.

2AM and 2PM cannot escape the battle against each other. Like twins, they were born from the same stomach but are walking different paths musically. Will they be able to continue it as a friendly battle?
